Do you help organise a running club? Welcome to a new way of doing things.
Here, we’ll dive into why Teamer could be your not-so-secret weapon. Imagine an easy way to find out who’s available, pick your running teams and collect fees.
Teamer is suitable for all types of running - from clubs specialising in track, cross country, road and fell running, to groups doing charity runs or parkruns on a Saturday.
Inform other runners about training plans well in advance, see who is available for upcoming races, and take payments securely online.
Imagine a straightforward way to do the admin all running teams and clubs need to power through.
Getting started
The first step in your Teamer journey is to create your team. This can be done quickly by the team manager, with the option to add a team name, team crest and team photo.
Each person’s profile can be adapted with key information - a photo, a bio and their favourite athlete.
In addition, the athletics team manager can include private comments on each page. Members will all be visible on the member section of your Teamer page, and their details can be viewed quickly.
Who else can you invite?
As well as the athletes, you can also invite other important team members on Teamer.
This could be coaches, parents, team volunteers or anyone else who wants to be part of your athletics group!
As the team manager, you set the status of other team members and can amend their account privileges.
So, you might grant access to a volunteer to manage the payments for your athletics members.
Fixtures can be created in no time on the events page. You can schedule training sessions, upcoming races or even social occasions.
With just a few clicks, you could organise a long run for the weekend and include all of the details on the activity screen - the location, the running pace, the distance.
Plus, you have the option to notify team members with automatic reminders or collect payment as well!
With just a few taps, you could notify the runners about a guided run coming up later in the week, and the entire club will receive an email, text or app notification, depending on their settings.
Recurring events & calendar
If your group has regular weekly treadmill runs, you could set up a recurring event. This means the session will automatically be created for however many weeks ahead you choose.
The events page displays the events in a list view, and there is also a calendar view so you can clearly see all the events coming up in the next few weeks.
You can connect the team calendar to your personal Google, iCal, or Outlook calendar, and all future Teamer events will automatically be synchronised!
The calendar view makes it quick for runners to share their availability.
They just need to click on a certain day and drag across for however many days they are not available, and those days will become red on their calendar.
This information will be shown on the running team manager’s calendar, and the players will automatically be marked as unavailable for any events during that time.
On an individual event page, the running coach / organiser has the opportunity to select the squad and put players on standby.
Runners can then accept or decline their position, and you don’t have to make those last-minute calls to find your pace-setter.
Attendance
View attendance for your runners across a season. No more uncertainty. Make informed decisions on picking your strongest running team.
The attendance page shows you a chart of recent stats - like the running meets and who could attend.
Gone are the days of counting cash and trips to the bank. With Teamer, you can move all of your team’s payments online, saving you time and ensuring everyone pays their fees when they should.
Setting up your team with Teamer payments is quick and easy:
As an organiser, instead of scrolling through bank statements or counting out cash, getting paid direct to your bank account is far more convenient.
Your Teamer page has a gallery section, where anyone can upload photos and videos to share with team members.
You could share a photo of your new trainers, or a video of a sprint finish in this morning’s parkrun.
The media can be viewed by everyone in the team, and they can leave comments as well.
Teamer also comes equipped with a document page where anyone can upload a document securely that will be seen by all the team members.
There is the option to notify team members whenever you upload a photo, video or document.
Forget Whatsapp or Facebook groups! Sometimes you need to get a message out to all your runners as quickly as possible.
Instead of a confusing email thread or scrolling through texts, use your teamtalk section to share any news.
It’s all in one place. You can send messages that will be seen by all running members.
Everyone can opt into your preferred mode of communication - email and notifications via the Teamer mobile app. All email and app notifications are free.
Record key statistics and share race reports
Every event page has a section for runners to leave comments, and there is a section for the team manager as well.
The coach could write an in-depth report after a race, detailing the fastest times of the day and some interesting running stats.
Teamer’s popularity in the running community stems from being really useful for different roles within teams, clubs and groups. Here are a few examples below…
Why is Teamer great for coaches?
Coaches dedicate a lot of time and effort to their running clubs, and they usually do this alongside full-time jobs. Anything that makes organisation faster and more enjoyable is a good thing, right?
Well, Coaches can use Teamer to schedule short runs, treadmill workouts, speed runs and find out how many people will be in attendance. Or plan a meal out for everyone.
Teamer can massively cut down on admin, and leave coaches with more precious time to focus on the things that matter.
Why you should use Teamer to manage your junior runners
Teamer is suitable for all running levels, from juniors starting out to experienced runners.
Your junior running team will benefit from all of the features of Teamer, whether that’s collecting payments for this weekend, or scheduling a future training session.
Juniors and parents can stay in touch with their running team on the move wherever they are.
Teamer for smaller groups
Teamer can be used whichever way works for you!
If you are a member of a large running club with an existing website and admin setup, you could set up a Teamer page for just the cross country section to organise specific training sessions and race events!
Teamer is one of the best running apps for managing a group and works well alongside other apps like Strava.
You might already use a running app to record all your runs and measure your speed, distance, average pace and other run stats with a GPS, but Teamer will help you manage your running group and keep in touch with members.
If you’re looking to improve how you run your team, there is a better way.
If you want to save time and plan ahead with confidence, why not give Teamer a try today?
Teamer is FREE to download. All team management features are FREE to use, but we charge a small transaction fee if you collect a payment.
